Point Robinson Lighthouse Quarters A is the perfect setting for a family vacation. The home, originally the Assistant Lightkeeper's quarters ,was built in 1885,and stands just off the beach at Point Robinson. The home is clean and comfortable, well-equipped to meet your families' needs for a week at the shore. The view is spectacular - the home overlooks Puget Sound, just across from Dash Point and Salt Water State Parks, with Mount Rainier dominating the skyline beyond the Des Moines / Redondo shorelines. We were entranced by the light on the water and mountains, the boats and ships, and the marine life. Orca, porpoise, seal, otter, bald eagles, osprey, and a wide variety of other birds and sea creatures passed by. Our days were filled with beach-combing, playing in the surf, dreaming on the front porch, kayaking in Quartermaster Harbor, and hiking in the wonderful Vashon park system. The island has well-stocked groceries and a wide array of restaurants and coffee shops to nurture and satisfy. Our last night, the full moon rose over Redondo, a vast bronze disc casting a broad path of molten light across the sound and right to our front door, lighting our dreams of the gentle rush of the water over the stony beach.
