This lodge was an unexpected surprise. As you drive up it doesn't look like a lodge, but walk in and feel the ambiance of the fine wood work and lodge feel. When you enter though, you are entering the top level and must go down the stairs to kitchen and main level. The real stone fireplace is a geologists dream and really the show piece of the home. Loved the wagon wheel/oil lamp chandelier. What my husband and I liked best was the large kitchen that we could both cook in and the openness which allowed one to see nature with the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. The property is tucked away up a private drive and coded electronic gate and is situated next to the river and Eva's cabin. So if Eva's is booked, you might see other people. However, when we were there we had the whole property to ourselves and the owners provided us a map of all the current walking trails as well as the future ones coming soon. The home was clean and the beds comfortable. There was a bedroom and bath, media room, living room, dining room on the lower (main level) Upstairs is 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. I recommend this home for 2 couples or a family with older children.
