We had a really nice stay at Sun Mountain Lodge. We stayed in the lodge in a room with a king and two twins. Roomy even though both of our kids are adult sized. The lodge is prettier in person than in pics. Lots of fireplaces to warm up by! Staff was mostly friendly and service overall was good. We ate in dining room once for breakfast and in casual grill for a few lunches and dinners. Meals are around $5 more per entree than you'd pay elsewhere. We didn't mind as the views were amazing. Quality was pretty good for such a remote location. We went on the horse drawn sleigh ride to tent dinner. This was a great experience! The weather was clear and cold. Blankets provided on sleigh. Hearty home style meal with great acoustic guitar and cowboy singer. We loved it! Rode home under sleepy stars. Kids took ski lessons and enjoyed. Hubby and I enjoyed the trails and beauty of the snowy woods. We went into town a few times. Unfortunately many places were closed for season. No tvs in rooms (though I think a few might have them). We enjoyed watching the Olympics with other guests in the tv room by a warm fire. Nice experience overall. Will definitely consider going back!

Just spectacular. The whole stay was great from start to finish. The dining room, the service, the room, the hot tub, the mountain and the activities. We came for a mountain biking trip and just fell in love with the place. We wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were very professional and obviously practice a high level of customer service. Very much enjoyed our stay. A bit pricey but well worth it. I would love to have my wedding there some day.

We didn't stay here. We did come here to rent cross country skis and took some lessons. The equipment was in excellent shape. The staff in the rental shop seemed to know what they were doing. The instructor that went out with us was probably a 4/5 stars, but still got the job done and was reasonably patient with our daughter. Prices are in line with other on-site rentals we've encountered. Trail grooming was good. Signage was average.

This is our third or fourth trip to Sun Mountain Lodge, always in January or February, and we love the place. Everything was great . . . our accommodations were very comfortable and very clean, our room had a wonderful view (Mt. Robinson), we had great lunch & dinner at both Wolf Creek and also at the dining room (my venison dish was spectacular!) and enjoyed the drink & wine selection. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. We snowshoe every day and it was spectacular, even though the snow was less this year, but the trails were well groomed and it was very easy to snowshoe. We will make our reservation for next year very soon . . . probably once in January and once in February :)

Every year a group of friends visits Sun Mountain in late January for a cross country / snowshoe adventure, and we always stop by the bar in the lodge after our snowshoeing. The drinks and food are always good, but just like past years, the service is indifferent at best. After waiting for a table at a half empty bar for almost 15 minutes, we waited another 20 minutes to place our drink orders. Once food orders were placed, it was another 35 minutes until food arrived. Not so much as a “sorry for the wait.“ I’ve stayed here several times and love the accommodations, but I really wish they would step up their game in terms of service in their dining facilities.
