We visited Kopp's for the grill and the custard. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and a large sundae to go, of course, since there are only outdoor benches and it was cold. The sandwiches were packaged and made in a hurry, as sauce was all over the wrapper and by the time we got them home, the buns were soggy and had sauce on the outside of the bun. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was not at all to our liking. It didn't taste much like Buffalo sauce. We didn't eat it because it was so bad. The burger was just ok--nothing special.
We ordered a Sprecher's root beer to go, the 64 oz in the large bucket. The kid who filled it did so in a hurry, and on the way home, it fizzed out the container and got sticky root beer all over the cup holder and down the side of the cup.
The ice cream was the worst. It wasn't even a hot day, but after taking my brown-bag wrapped sundae in the car, it wasn't 5 minutes before it started leaking all over the car. I opened it at that time, and saw that the sundae was stuffed full in the container, which would delight me if it had stayed there. But the container didn't latch properly, and the overstuffed container did nothing to keep the melting ice cream inside. We had to pull over and throw it away.
I called when I got home, and the manager apologized and offered to refund me for the sundae. I asked her about the root beer, and she didn't really have much to say. She said that Sprecher's gives them those containers, so it's not their fault. I argued that even if that's true, she should own the problem and tell them that the container isn't working for their customers. She halfway agreed but with a tone that suggested she was just saying it to make me quiet. She put a credit in the book for me for the sundae.
Overall, I would definitely NOT recommend Kopp's to anyone, and I will certainly never be back.
