I ordered the Irish breakfast, but they did not have bangers, or the black and white pudding. So i opted for the lamb shepherds pie. The pie came with a nice amount of good lamb, carrots, onions, peas and gravy. Topped with mashed potatoes, it was very good. The beef pie was also good. Others in our party had corned beef hash, and raved about it. One of the young ones had fish and chips. She loved it, and ate every bit!

Love this little place- one of two of my Kenosha staples.
The food quality is consistently top-notch and the service is always excellent.
Interesting drinks and Irish beer combos round out the experience.
You cannot go wrong with a stop here.

Thank Jennifer H

Have been to Ashling many times. Wanted to like this place as Irish places are few and far between. Every time I leave unimpressed and disappointed in the food. Our last meal there started off with asking the waitress for a half Guinness and half Harp while telling her we forgot what it’s called. She replied that she doesn't know what its called because she doesn't like Guinness and it might be good mixed together, she could ask. Of course we have had them before and were just trying to order one, but we were surprised it seemed like a strange order at an Irish restaurant. It’s a Half and Half for the record. The Drink order wasn't really a big deal and we wouldn't have thought twice about the oddness of it if the food and the rest of the evening were good. 4 of us ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage. With what should be some of the best Corned Beef you would have, it ended up being the worst. First off, the potato choice is mashed or roasted red. Thought incorrectly it was boiled red and were surprised that the waitress asked if we wanted catsup for our potatoes. We learned after they arrived why. They were roasted crisp potato wedges. While the potatoes ended up being the best part of the meal, they were not the traditional style we were expecting. Next, the cabbage, I feel like they are trying to be to fancy with the cabbage. It could probably best described as a cabbage salad. It consists of small leaves of cabbage in an oil or something similar mixed with possibly other ingredients. None of us cared for this cabbage mixture, it was small and unappetizing. Finally, The Corned Beef. The Corned Beef was shredded on every plate with no discernible Slices of meat, just a Pile of shredded meat. The meat was about 50% red and 50% dark Brown. The red tasted good while the Brown Shreds were awful tasting and ruined all of the meat. One of us did not eat more than one bite off one of the plates and left it for them to throw away with nothing more than a joke being made by the waitress about her taking it home. The night ended with them being out of the only desert every one wanted which was bread pudding. We went down the street to Mikes chicken and donuts to try and end it on a good note. We won't be back to Ashling.

This place is great to come for a few drinks. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is very warm and comfortable. Kelly waited on us at the bar and she was very attentive and friendly.
