Stayed for 3 nights in a King Executive Room.
I took the train up from Chicago was able to walk to the hotel in under 20 minutes.
Check in was very quick and the employees were more than willing to help with directions and dinner suggestions.
As others have stated, for an InterContinental, this hotel is due for a bit of renovations. While the lobby areas are modern and reflective on IC's modern and luxurious décor, the rooms are a bit faded. If you're ever stayed at IC's in other countries, you'll see that the rooms don't really compare. I am told that the hotel will start modernizing rooms later this year and into next. They really do need it.
Surprisingly, there really aren't a lot of hotels that are right downtown so expect to pay a higher nightly rate but as InterContinental's go globally, this one is in the lower price range.
I loved the spaciousness of my room and the separate parlor. Although there were some stains on the carpeting and occasional wear marks on the furniture, it was comfortable. WiFi is excellent here as well.
All in, I was pleased with my stay and will consider this hotel when I return to Milwaukee in the future.More
