Decided to give Homewood a try. It is a great location, you can walk to Wisconsin ave downtown or the festival grounds. Breakfast was good as was the wi fy. Nice pillows and towels, I would have given them a 5, except they need to upgrade the Kleenex tissues, felt like sand paper

Room Tip: High floor

This is in a newly revitalized part of Tosa. Brand new Homewood, still a lot of building going on around it. There is everything you need within walking distance. The shower head is unbelievably good! Best water pressure I’ve had in a hotel EVER!!!

The hotel is very nicely renovated. Rooms are nice and very clean. We had 2 adults and 2 children in our room and had to move furniture to use the sofa bed. There was not enough seating in the room for 4 people unless some of us sat on the bed. The table was only big enough for 2 people. Our family needs hotels with full kitchens because of food allergies--we either pack all our food or eat in the room. So it was not acceptable to only have seating for 2. There was also only one small closet, so for 4 people, it was not enough.

We had to ask for additional towels because there weren't enough in the room. We waited an hour and had to call the front desk again to ask. This time the front desk person did bring things up within 10 minutes.

Front desk staff was always in the back room--never at the front desk. They weren't rude, but they didn't really seem to care about being friendly or helpful. It just seemed like they were doing the bare minimum.

Our room was right next to the interstate and it was extremely LOUD. Windows are not soundproof. Traffic goes on all night long, so if you are a light sleeper, request a room that isn't alongside the interstate. The floors in the kitchen/living room area are very nice hardwood, but when you have people on the floors above you walking around, you can hear everything.

Parking--the lot is behind the hotel. Spaces are hard to get in and out of (simply not enough space, very narrow aisles). Never had a problem finding a space. The hotel apparently owns the lot and allows the public to use it for $5-8 depending on what time you enter the lot (self-pay station). However, hotel guests have to pay $22 a day to park there. That makes no sense to me. They ask for your license plate when you check-in, but there is no parking lot oversight at all.

I don't want to be overly negative because it is a nice hotel, but I wish more people would leave honest reviews to help others make informed decisions. So that was my goal. :-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the interstate/interchange bridges

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and share your feedback. I am very sorry your accommodations did not suit your needs, I would definitely recommend an upgrade to an extended suite should you return in the future, some manage with 4 in a standard room but others are more comfortable in our larger suites.
I will certainly address our front desk staff and apologize for the lack of attention, I assure you this is not our standard of service and will be addressed immediately.
Unfortunately, in a downtown location, traffic/interstate noise is present, we certainly have the option to move guests to the rear side of the hotel which would eliminate this immensely, it is with regret this caused an inconvenience during your stay.
We will have a full reconfiguration of our parking lot in 2 weeks, we realize the stalls and pass through are far too difficult to navigate, this unfortunately was discovered post opening but is definitely being cured. We do not own the lot, we lease spaces from a 3rd party, the fee on the sign reflects hour increments that can be purchased by non hotel guests, there are no in and out privileges and an overnight through that system would equal $27 per night versus our $22. I apologize for the confusion with this, I will work on the signage with the lot owner when we re-vamp the space, thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Your comments are very important to correct areas in need and enhance our services. I absolutely appreciate your honestly and agree this assists other travelers. I am pleased you found the hotel to be nice overall and commit to you we will adjust items so we do not repeat issues you experienced.
Thanking you again,
Tammy Fraley

This location really elevated my opinion of what a Homewood Suite can be! The building has been several business through the years including a pizza place, steakhouse and a dance club. They did a fantastic job transforming the entire building into a hotel while still keeping the original characteristics of the building.

If you're driving, you enter off Water Street. There is no valet so you continue driving to the parking lot behind the hotel. I do have to mention that this is a poorly marked parking lot. It's difficult to determine which direction to go and the spots are quite small. But once you get past that, the hotel really shines. My room was spacious and I loved the huge arched windows with views of the Third Ward. The bed was super comfy and I loved the hardwood floor in the kitchen area. The lobby had a great look and staff was friendly. The hotel is located right next to the Third Ward so you're close to the public market and lots of dining options.

I had a great stay and look forward to my next time!
