“Good Korean food in a modest restaurant”

We ate here twice going to and coming from South Dakota. Both times the food was good especially the Be Bim Bop. Service is ok but erratic. You may have to go to the kitchen door and call at mid-afternoon. But once someone comes, they try hard to please. The place has a noticeable smell of Korean food, smoke and grease in the dining area. More exhaust ventilation in the kitchen would help a lot.

We saw the reviews and skipped the fried food at Cheyenne Frontier Days and walked the mile or so to the Korean House. It was about 2:45 when we got there. There was only one other couple in the restaurant when we arrived and one ahead of us ordering to go. We ordered the Mondoo and beef ribs and sat at a table. The owner brought the food out in take out bags. We asked if we could eat there as we had no where to eat and no car. She said no! We had to sit on a stoop on the street to eat our food, which was very bland. The ribs were flavorful but chewy, and the beef Mondoo was flavorless. And the meal set us back $31. Should've had some overpriced carnival food. At least they had picnic tables to eat at.

In their defense, there was a sign on the door that said "take out only" for "dinner" but no time when that rule started. We weren't asking to put our food on plates, just to let us eat our take out at one of their empty tables. Nope.

My wife and I have been enjoying this place for many years, visiting for the latest meal just a couple days ago. The food is ALWAYS fresh, the staff always inviting.

It is a bit expensive however. The portions are quite large, but like every other industry in the state I assume they have been hit by commodity price drops.

Also, they only take cash or local checks so come prepared. It seems shocking that in this day in age someone wouldn't take some form of credit or debit card. Children's lemonade stands take them at this point. There are varying reason for not (Service fee, account fees, etc), but it is rather expected anymore.

Despite those small grievances we cannot get enough of this place. It will probably always be our favorite.

June 1st they changed their hours: 11:00am to 6:00pm M-F.
They still offer table service for lunch, but only take out for dinner.

Still a clean friendly place with great food!

I have absolutely no idea why Korean food in Cheyenne Wyoming became an option, but we stopped here for lunch. Prices seemed very high for lunch - $10.99 for most entrees on the menu? I figured they had only one size - so it was a very good idea to split one entrée for lunch. We ordered chicken fried rice and 2 eggrolls and could barely finish it. The fried rice has really small portions of boiled chicken (not my favorite) and their preparation includes a full 2-3 egg omelet on top of the rice. Eggrolls are dense, meat-filled. Different, but not a lot of flavor.
Take Note: Cash or check only. We just lucked out that we were able to scrap the cash together to pay for our meal. Lunch ONLY is eat-in - they deliver only for dinner. We were pretty much forgotten after our food was delivered and started sucking on ice towards the end of our meal...
Seems like a very respectable, family-owned operation, but I don't think I'd return for lunch - way too much food.
