We visited this little museum on our one day of shopping in Jackson on a rainy day. There are 3 small rooms in the main museum, plus with the price, you get admission to another local museum. Not sure which one. We spent about a half hour touring this museum, looking at the still life displays and artifacts, and reading some of the historical descriptions. It is well kept and interesting. There are also clean bathrooms. I would not go out of my way to visit this museum, but it was a nice way to spend part of a rainy day in Jackson.

Smallish and less than expected for the wealth of Jackson Hole. Yes there are some historical artifacts and diaramas of historical scenes and wildlife but no video intro or computerized aids. This is old school all the way. Given the historical significance of the mountain men (er, Jackson for example) and the dude ranches I thought the Museum could do more to explain their role in Jackson development. Would have also been good to include more photos of the past. We did not get much sense of a historical timeline. The attached bookstore is excellent and contains many western classics.

The exhibits were really good and laid out well - especially in the pioneer/frontiersman section. The kids got into the exhibits - especially after reading the explanations.

The Native American section is in a different building a couple of blocks away. It was equally instructive.

The two exhibitions are certainly worth the 45 minutes or so it takes to get around them, especially if you're not familiar with the old west.

Stopped by while the rest of my family went rafting. The admission price includes the Native American Museum and a history of early settlers. They are in separate buildings in different locations. For small museums, there are lots of interesting artifacts. Don't miss the book selection in the history museum gift shop.

Stopped by the museum and learned a lot about the history of Jackson Hole and its settlers. Nice displays throughout.
