We spent five nights here while exploring the Kona Coast and we couldn't have loved it more! The hotel is 100 years old, charming with many great features. We stayed on the third floor in a very nice and spacious room with a balcony that had the most stunning view of the slope and ocean. The hotel is surrounded by trees and plants and you are always listening to the soundtrack of birds singing- it is relaxing and wonderful! Do not be put off by the lack of a/c in the rooms- there is great cross-vent in the room and a ceiling fan that works just fine! There was also a decent internet connection (free). The hotel has a nice-loking restaurant for all meals that we didn't try, but locals said is excellent.
In terms of location, the Manago is a great pied-a-terre for the Kona coast and great for avoiding the very touristy spots. Everything is a very short drive away. There was a farmers market across the road on Sunday, a historic coffee farm a 2 min drive away and a nice grocery store/ super market 5 mins away.More
