That has never happened to me on any Hawaiian vacation, but a week at the St Regis Princeville is enough.
The resort could be penalized in my mind by high expectations and superior experiences elsewhere. I couldn't help but compare this resort to the Mauna Lani on the Big island, a resort I enjoy each year for business. At half the price, that resort wins at every turn.
It has better food, better service and better rooms, all at a better price.
At the St Regis, I couldn't quite get past the feeling that I was being taken advantage of- from the $8 coffee in the morning, to the $20 parking fee, to $50 fee to remove stuff from the minibar so that one could use as a fridge.
I'm not cheap, I just want things to be worth the price. The St Regis Princeville was not in my mind.More
