My wife, toddler and I shared this suite with my mother and father. It was a perfect place for us to stay and enjoy the many charms of Maui.
The complex itself is quite large and offers a pretty good array of amenities. There is a beach right out front that is very well suited to children as it is sheltered and calm... big-wave surfers will have to go somewhere else. There is a nice pool with plenty of deck chairs, a well manicured lawn with shuffleboard courts and barbeques available for use. There is a beautiful and huge rooftop patio with a spectacular 360 view, and very child friendly at that. The only knock on the building is the fact that there isn't that much nearby other than the beach... any shopping or attractions will require a long walk or more likely, a drive. There is sporadic bus service although it's so infrequent I wouldn't want to rely on it. There is also an Indian restaurant on site which I tried and enjoyed. Kihei itself is well situated for visitors... nothing on Maui is really that far except for Hana and the far reaches of the western part of the island, so the major attractions are reasonably close by car.
The suite itself is spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped. It was perfect for our group of 4 adults and a toddler, but I wouldn't put any more people than that in there. Especially appreciated were the various little touches like a selection of books (including many about Hawaii), a collection of beach equipment including some fantastic chairs, a copious amount of towels, and a bunch of kitchen basics so that you don't have to necessarily run out and buy every last thing like salt and pepper. The balcony was a great place to relax at the end of the day over a glass of wine while enjoying the sunset over the ocean (it's true, you do have to look a bit to the left to see it, but the view is still really impressive!). Washrooms are nicely decorated and even offer great views from the shower! The suite has Wifi and a nice big TV.
The suite does not have A/C but with the stiff breezes through the area, open windows and ceiling fans were more than enough to keep us comfortable. It was actually kind of nice to feel the enjoyably warm and humid wind instead of just relying on air conditioned cold air pumping through the suite, but that's a matter of personal taste.
Now a word about the street noise... a lot of reviews mention this given that the suite is on the end of the building closest to the S. Kihei Highway. For our group it was not a problem whatsoever. We were so tuckered out by the end of the day that we fell right asleep with the windows open. Traffic on this street is steady but not particularly heavy as it's a 2-lane road. I concede that very light sleepers might have a problem with this, but to us it was not an issue whatsoever.
Dealing with Rentals Maui was a snap and they were pleasant and courteous throughout. For the money, this suite is tough to beat. I'd have no problem recommending it.

The unit was decorated well and was very well equipped. The partial ocean view was very nice - although you should know it is only a partial view.
If you are sensitive to noise, the unit is closest to the main road in the complex. Since there is no air conditioning ,it is very loud - especially when the windows are open to access the lovely breeze. Kathy at Rentals Maui was great. Half of our family went home early in part due to the road noise as it was constant.
