Stayed here for 8 nights on a girls' trip and will never stay here again. This was my 11th trip to Hawaii for work/pleasure and this was by far the most disappointing hotel I have ever visited in Maui. The price for our room was exorbitant, especially given the age of the facility and the time of year. The rooms are showing their age, the "lobby" area floods after every rain, the parking and daily resort fees are ridiculous, and there were many, many issues related to their customer service. There are SO MANY other better options for hotels just in the Kaanapali area.
As a World of Hyatt member, this stay was especially disappointing. As an example, before the trip I received an email listing optional "add-ons" that could be booked in advance. So, we booked an evening with the astronomer in the hotel's observatory (seating is limited). When we arrived and asked about picking up our tickets for this event, it turned out that every night was already "sold out" and our name was not on the reservation list even though I had both an electronic confirmation showing our reservation and a bill showing the charge for the event on my credit card. There is no excuse for snafus like this when you are paying $700+ a night for a shabby hotel room during off season!
