Loved the historical significance of the Pioneer Inn and the preserved remnants. The staff was excellent in their welcoming and hospitality. I only wish the individual window ac units in each room were not there. They were loud and unnecessary. The overhead fans were enough. Unfortunately there was no way to turn them off.

The Best Western Pioneer Inn offers an excellent opportunity to experience staying in Lahaina: from this historic hotel built in 1904, drinking coffee on your deck with the view of the magnificent Banyan tree, in house restaurant and bar - with weekend live music, and the ease of scheduling snorkeling or a dinner cruise right out the front door of the Pioneer Inn simply invites you to stay and play. Oh, and it is a five minute stroll on Front Street to ocean side restaurants, and of course Fleetwoods.
Recently stayed at Pioneer Inn in Lahaina. Very nice hotel on Harbour front. Very historic. Close to many excellent restaurants and shops. Each room has a balcony overlooking either harbour, Front Street or the Pool area. Front desk staff Mark, Samantha and Kiley are very friendly and helpful. If going to the beach, there are a limited number of beach chairs and a cooler available to borrow. Sitting on balcony facing Front street , guests can listen to live music from nearby restaurants. Only downsides are if room facing the banyan tree it is very loud in the morning with the roosters and other birds crowing and singing before the sun comes up. Traffic can be very loud as is the air conditioning. No beach available within walking distance , however Baby Beach is a short drive away. The hotel utilizes a public parking lot across the street. Parking may not be available midday.
The Pioneer Inn is a 120 year old hotel, but has been maintained and updated while keeping some of the charm. Located at the Lahaina Harbor, there are many shops, restaurants and sight seeing activities nearby.
Our newest discovery, after decades of visiting Maui, is how much fun it is to stay in the heart of Lahaina at the BW Pioneer Inn! It's a great break from the big resorts. Wake up to a joyful cacophony of Banyan Tree birds as the town comes to life & begins to start the day with restaurant workers cruising in via bicycle, early-birds heading for the harbor's whale-watching boats, or East-Coasters strolling off the time-change. The rooms at the Inn are all on the second floor - no elevator - so keep that in mind. Each room has a fabulous verandah providing views onto busy Front Street &/or the Banyan - with some units facing the peaceful courtyard & pool. The restaurant downstairs is convenient & serves delicious food, cocktails - with live music! Lots of good shops downstairs. Walk to everything in town. Super friendly, helpful staff. Love the classic feel of this original hotel, which has been maintained so well & preserved for our generations to enjoy.
This is the most historical hotel in Lahaina. It is right on the water, right next to the famous banyan tree, and you can walk out the door eat drink, and experience art! I stayed there for three days and one in an extra day, and they gave it to me in the same room, I am an artist from the neighbor island, Oahu, and came here on a business trip, and got to see many of my artist, friends, and make new friends. And if you’re in a tennis and surfing like I am, there is the famous Lahaina, tennis courts where many excellent players have come out and great long boarding waves right there in front of the hotel
