This restaurant is in a strip mall next to a grocery store (so parking is free), but you would never know it from the inside. It is like stepping into some other world. I could have just looked around at all their decorative artifacts for an hour. Was there for breakfast, had steak and eggs with a side pancake. My wife had huevos rancheros. All delicious. Great service and food. Not particularly cheap, but certainly not expensive by Maui standards. Definitely will go back on future trips.

Was good always like the quirky ambience in this place. Music is always varied and I do love that, there is a continuous eclectic mix. Staff have always been ‘homely ‘ as if you are a regular. Food is good, coffee is good.

Great atmosphere, lots of cool decorations everywhere. My wife and I stopped buy for lunch and were very happy with our meals and the beer was nice and cold.

A very funky atmosphere, but the service was indifferent and the food terrible. We had 2 appys: calamari (totally overcooked and tasteless) and coconut shrimp (overcooked and served with a canned dipping sauce of low quality). At $14. a pop, definitely not value for the money.

We attempted to go to the Slappy Cakes for breakfast but wait time was too long. We found the Java Jazz Cafe. Originally, thought it was a coffee joint. Boy, was I wrong. We had a delicious breakfast that was reasonably priced. Service was fantastic and the decor is something you just have to be there to take it all in! Be sure to check out the slide show located close to the money tree. Pancakes are huge! Forget about Slappy Cakes and go to Java Jazz!!
