Stop for the Dole whip, then get back in your car and continue driving. Very crowded, food stalls and cheap trinkets. Train for the kids. Maze for the kids. All at a hefty price. When free hiking in nature abounds why would any one pay?

A fun trip out for the family! The 20 min train ride was the highlight for everyone, riding through the high up fields of pineapples, cacao, coffee, bananas etc with interesting narration. The cool breeze is lovely on a hot day. The maze was fun but very hot. If the are going to register the different boards to find in the maze, you will need a pencil or the app. The shop has everything pineapple you could wish for and other snacks too. A fun place to go.

We actually visited twice during our stay at North Shore. First time was the train ride, garden tour and dole whip in a cup with pineapple...yum. I was surprised that the train ride was actually nice, but I would skip the garden tour. Second visit was for lunch and dole whip again. Two different lines, but sell the same thing and it seems that the line furthest from the gift shop was shorter. Pricing for lunch was very reasonable and very good.

We visited on a Thursday morning and opted for the maze and train combo ticket ~ about $17 per person. Train ride was informative. Maze was okay, definitely something for the young to enjoy and put their puzzle solving skills to work.

Gift shop/eatery had a lot of variety, particularly pineapple related items of course, including Dole whip, pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream. There were also all kinds of pineapple cookies and candies as well as gifts to choose from.

Definitely geared towards the tourist and we enjoyed spending some time here. Would recommend if looking for a family friendly way to spend some time.

We wanted to come to the Dole plantation because it seemed like a must do but we were highly disappointed. The rest rooms were dirty and everything seemed very chaotic. We did receive a pineapple demonstration that showed us the proper way to cut a pineapple so that was cool. We also got some pineapple ice cream and they gave a generous serving and we appreciated that. However, we were going to do the tours but just were no longer interested. Overall not sure that it’s a must do, but if you don’t have anything to do and you’re out that way I guess you could stop by.
