This is a long white sand beach lo ated along Farrington Highway on Oahu's west shore of Wainae. You can run/walk on the sand for mile and miles. We went on the last weekend of April so the wave were pretty mild, however in the winter months the beach gets pounded by high surf. This is a very spacious park, with a grassy area and it perfect for picnics and large gatherings. It was pretty empty when we went, just a few locals hanging out, having a bbq under the coconut trees. You won't see many tourist at all in this beach park since its location is away from the south shore of Waikiki. Camping is allowed at this beach, but a permit is required. Its definitely one of the m ko st beautiful beaches on the west side of Oahu. White sand, turquoise water, gorgeous mountain views create a pristine oasis. It is ideal for beach goers looking to soak up some sun, bodyguard, swim, exercise and plenty of space for picnics or a ball game. Lifeguard is on duty during the day and the bathroom facility is very clean and well maintained. Showers are available, ample parking. This sprawling beach park is a true gem.

During the week we were here, this beach was generally empty except for 10-12 local teens and maybe 10 tents scattered about (which seem to be make-shift homeless camps)? We ventured down and had a BLAST running in and out of the waves, but parts can be rocky about 15' in, so make sure to wear roof shoes, etc. When we finished, we went back to the car and there were a couple folks sleeping/passed out next to the showers. No-one approached us for cash or bothered us in any manner....none of the 'this beach is for local's only' BS that people have mentioned from years past. This part of the island has A LOT of people living on the beach and more derelict cars that you can imagine, but we never felt in harms way.

This is a peaceful beach during the week but it gets absolutely full on the weekends as the locals have huge gatherings and camping on the beach.

We was just driving and came to this beach park. It was a lot of fun with swings and nice beach for our young granddaughter. We just chilled out here for about 2 hours before heading out for the next beach park.
