Royal Orchid Guam Hotel

I was looking for a cheap room to stay in, so I checked Royal Orchid's FB page and there was a two-night special to stay on the executive floor — $200. In the ad, it stated that lounge access was included but upon checking in, I was told that it was not. Also keep in mind that the security deposit is $100. You may pay with a card but it can take a while for the Royal Orchid to release the hold.

I stayed on the 7th floor. After paying for an executive king, was put in a double but when I let front desk know, they were accommodating and moved me to the king room; the room however had obviously not been made up as there was no card on the bed and the sheets weren't properly fixed. It looked thrown over the bed.

The rooms are mostly clean, but there are obvious stains on the carpets, sheets, curtains, etc. There was also what looked liked a string of dried semen along the red plush chair in the room. That was weird, but I just reminded myself it was a hotel & I'm just grateful it was dry.

Dining is convenient, as a walk downstairs means either Tony Roma's, Caps, and just outside is Jamaican Grill. The store is also convenient. The prices are reasonable and the store owner is very nice. The hotel also has a USO.

Overall, it's fine for what I paid. However, the room I had normally runs between $180-$200, and I would not pay that much to stay there. The executive floor at the Royal Orchid is similar to a standard room at the Hilton (the Hilton is much cleaner with excellent service though so I'd recommend just booking a simple room there instead). However, if you've got less than $100 and $100 to put on the line as a security deposit, a standard room at royal orchid ($80-110) is the place to go, much better than Verona or the plaza hotels.

Quite an old property with old style electric switch, Old Carrier air cons but cooling was good. Bathroom is huge but quite old style.2 Complimentary water bottles for your entire stay was a big surprise. The shower rod was broken and no one came to repair for 3 days during our stay. Surprisingly housekeeping does not report to facilities team. The couch and the chair upholstery was dirty and seems no dry-clean has been done from ages. The Check in area is at level 1 and you will have to take escalators to reach the Check in area . The ground level has few restaurants and Travel Agents shops. Lobby area also has restaurants and travel desk . You can book your local tours through the travel desk . I tried few agents whilst in Guam and the pricing is same everywhere. No discounts or concessions in the prices.
The free shuttle busses are available from the main lobby door of the hotel to go to various shopping area. Conveniently located hotel with 5 minutes walk to the beach and super market. 15 minutes walk from the hotel to DFS Galleria and many more attractions and eating joins.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are the best

My one-year-old daughter and I stayed here for one night. We were just flying through Guam, so we didn't get to see much. The hotel shuttle driver waiting for us upon our arrival (and even waited a little while since I had to locate lost luggage). For just one person, or when traveling with a little one, the hotel shuttle service is the way to go. It was $15 including our bags for the both of us, and much more convenient than a taxi.

Check in was smooth and fast. We had a king size bed and the room was very spacious, which is perfect for letting a little one get their energy out. Also I had requested of the crib, and it was already in the room when we arrived. The room was clean and well stocked with toiletries, slippers, hot water pot, coffee, and tea.

If you have small children, there is a children's playroom near the lobby. My daughter loved this.

There are restaurants in the hotel as well as right outside the hotel, as well as an ABC store for any groceries or souvenirs you might need.

We had a super early shuttle next morning, which went very smoothly. I was super happy with their stay here, and would definitely stay here again. Maybe next time I'll get a chance to check out the pool and fitness room.

Self-Parking is a plus! BK, em... no memory at all, no need to purchase bed and bk package!

Famous rib/ Well-known Italian black noodle are located at ground floor. ABC and Chamorro BBQ near by! Even more, hike uphill to K-Mart under the sun may tan you brown a little!

Room is tidy but warm water shower is not ideal for people who enjoy hot water shower! Staffs are ok, You don't get much smile after 3pm due many ppl chk-in at that time!

This hotel is not close to beach but view is ok if you stay beach front & high level floor! Will I stay here again? Yes, if others higher grades are fully booked~!!!

Room Tip: North-East Corner Suite is brilliant~!!!

Recently stayed for a week at this hotel.

The hotel is in need of plenty of renovation/refurbishment. Rooms and facilities are old, carpets are worn out and stained, room furniture and fixtures are broken or damaged.

Rooms are fairly big though with big bathrooms.

Free wifi (very weak) and very annoyingly keeps getting disconnected each time your phone/iPad screen goes to the lock mode. Breakfast was not included and costs $15 per day.

Free airport shuttle is not available - although the hotel will arrange one for you for $15 per passenger one way.

There are 4 restaurants on site and many more within short walking distance. A big convenience store is just down the street as is a gas station.

If you must stay here, get a room on the 6th floor - thats where the pool and Gym are.

Room Tip: 6th floor near the elevators
