We were struggling for something to do as we had cancelled our Alcatraz tour due to weather, We chose the Exploratorium and were blown away by the experience. We had been there for 3 hours before we looked at the time and were stunned. Seemed we had been there an hour at most. So much to see...and do.

Fabulous hands on science museum for all ages - more than you can see in one day.
Exhibits are hands on with explanations.
Make your reservations ahead of time - they sometimes sell out.
We arrived at 10 and spent 4 hours there.
While you can not eat inside the museum, there are plenty of benches in their outdoor space where you can eat. I strongly advise you to bring your own lunch. The day we were there (a Thursday in August) the restaurant was closed and the cafe had about 3 overpriced sandwiches. Shame on them!
Otherwise, this is a world class museum and a must for any visit to San Francisco

This place is *amazing!* It's a hands-on, freak-you-out-how-did-they-do-that *enormous* museum filled with explanations of all kinds of scientific principles. It's fun, fun, and the more fun! Hubby and I spent more time there than we thought we would, and marveled at everything we saw--there's even an outdoor "play" area where the kids were happily running around and making all the exhibits work.
For the price we got a *bargain.* And we didn't even get to everything because there was so much! Don't miss the lights in the main room and the bowl-shaped Sun dial upstairs.

This was our second visit to the museum from a few years ago. We thought the variety of exhibits was outstanding. Our 8 and 14 year olds equally enjoyed exploring and discovering new and fascinating facts. The experience is well worth the admission price. We spent over 5 hours at the museum and could have easily stayed longer. A definite must-do experience for all ages.

Terrible. The food is overpriced just like the tickets and the people there were rude. Also some times the machines would get broken. Alot of the negative reviews were taken down about this place based on guests personal experiences.
