The food here is amazing and worth the price tag. The service could have been a little better, as we asked several times for water refills and didn't get it.

Every time we come to San Francisco we make a point of eating at Yank Sing. The Dim Sum is fantastic, and great Jasmine tea served in a beautiful teapot.

As a local, I dine at this restaurant (and its sister in Rincon Center) quite often, but I am tired or being overcharged for certain items. On our most recent visit, we ordered from both the dim sum menu (these items are competitively priced) as well as two items from the kitchen: sugar pea tips with garlic and pan fried crispy noodles with vegetables. The food is delicious, but compared to Ton Kiang, absurdly over-priced. We were charged $18 for the sugar pea tips (for which Ton Kiang charges $12.50) and $17;50 for the pan fried crispy noodles with vegetables (for which Ton Kiang charges $10.50). Why should noodles with a few mushrooms, a few slices of carrot and a couple of bok choy cost $17.50? Of course we know we pay more for everything in San Francisco, but I found this pricing to be egregious.

Spectacular dim sum. Flavors and textures of each dish were outstanding, service was super fast and friendly. Jasmine tea was heavenly, House specialty dumplings were a memorable surprise, and the desserts were lovely too.

Always wanted to be in this part of the city at lunch to eat here, this trip we managed it and weren’t disappointed. As soon as we sat the first trolley (steamed) arrived and we chose about 5 plates including the pork buns, then the fried trolley, then the duck and finally before we were too full their signature pork and soup dumplings. Excellent food and service and helpful servers if you didn’t know something. We were done in about 20mins!
