“Nice Memorial Waterfall Fountain by Yerba Buena Gardens.”

Reviewed 7 February 2015

The Martin Luther King Memorial and Waterfall is by Yerba Buena Gardens. Note: This area is also by the Metreon and is also near Moscone Convention Center (5 minute walk or so). So its a nice one to see if in San Francisco for a convention.

I like that one can see it from the front as well as walk around and see the waterfall from behind. There are various inspirational sayings on the walls around the fountain to see as well.

With the cafes in the Metreon and the green grass of Yerba Buena Gardens, I have also enjoyed sitting outside to have lunch in this area.

Thank mini

A hidden treasure awaits you at the MLK Memorial. As you read the famous speech "I have a dream" that is etched on glass panels, the powerful words are felt by the power of the waterfall you are walking behind....It all crescendos as the power of the speech and the waterfall are pounding with your heart.
Everyone should experience this!

This memorial was a surprise. I was out walking with my camera and found it. An amazing memorial and tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Was not expecting much, but I wanted to see the waterfall before the drought resulted in the water being turned off. Lovely tribute to MLK. The waterfall creates a serene background for the lawn in front and the exhibits behind the waterfall are a nice bonus.

This moves into my "top 10" list of "monuments" in the city (the list also includes the cross on Mt. Davidson; the Murals on Balmy Alley; the 16th Avenue Tiled Stairwell with its younger cousin; Cupid's Arrow on the Embarcadero; and the kids jumping in puddles at Redwood Park next to the TransAmerica building, to name a few).

So do drop by if you are downtown (Westfield or the Cable Car turnaround; it is worth the 20 minute detour).

Having been to the memorial in DC, it was great to see another. Through a waterfall though was something that I did not anticipate meaning anything to me. Created such a peaceful moment in my life I will never forget. Not a lot to view, but enough to say thank you to San Fran for making it possible.
