The food was OK. I ordered the lunch combo. It was typical sweet and sour pork with the heavy, sweet and sour sauce, lo mein, a chicken leg and some vegetables. I also tried a potsticker, which was sent with a thin red sauce that tasted like someone added too much vinegar. The pot sticker was very doughy, inside and out. The fried chicken leg was a typical chicken leg, the lo mein was tasty, the vegetables were OK, but I did not eat the lotus or black mushrooms, simply because I wasn't sure what to expect. My son ordered the fried pidgeon and that's what he got...a fried pidgeon and nothing else. No rice, no veggie, just a fried pidgeon (see pic). Of course walking through San Francisco after lunch, all we could do was make fried pidgeon jokes!
As a group our major complaint was when the waiter looked in my husband's open wallet while he was getting his cash out (this place is cash only) and pointed into his wallet and demanded a $5.00 tip. We always tip well when the server earns it. The thing is, the guy that demanded the money was not our waiter. Very shady practice!

This is a typical Chinese restaurant, in that most of the clients are local Chinese. The deli has roast duck, roast pig, bbq pork, etc. The duck , though, is the star of the show. The restaurant is also good , if you want something that is typical Chinatown.

We were going to hit one of the big well known places in China town but an older gentlemen said oh no oh no. We wanted a place where the locals eat. And off he took us to Yee's. Great food and really reasonable prices. Great selection of all the traditional Chinese dishes. A bowl of wonton soup is large enough to be shared by 2 or 3 people. And the duck was amazing.

So to be clear, this is a basic Cantonese Chinese eatery - functional, perhaps unattractive in appearance, but on the food front it does deliver - stick to their key dishes and you won't go wrong! Also, choose the $20.99 for 3 dishes menu if there is at least three of you as its the best value. Though the a la carte menu is dead cheap anyway!
We really liked the Beef Stew with turnip, Pork Spare Ribs in salt 'n pepper, Hotpot with tofu 'n prawns. Also the Wonton & Noodles soup with duck.
For the three of us we ordered 3 dishes plus 3 bowls of rice (at $1 each), got free 'house soup' and oranges for dessert, and the bill came to $24 plus tip, $29 !! Amazing !

We had 7 dishes which included sweet/sour chicken, curried beef, squid, roast duck, noodles and bbq ribs. All the food was excellent and good size portions.
The prices are reasonable and service was very quick.
