Owner description: This historic drawbridge, built by the same engineer who built the famous Golden Gate Bridge, crosses Mission Channel at Third Street.

If one parks in one of the parking lots south of the San Francisco Giants Baseball Stadium (AT & T park), one walks across this bridge that crosses the water to get to the ball park....and then again, one walks over it again to get back to the parking lot.

Its a bridge that crosses the boat canal.

Unless one needs to walk across the bridge to get from parking lot to stadium, its ok to give it a miss in seeing it while in San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge Light Show is the fun bridges to see while in San Francisco.

I have crossed this bridge dozens of times and when I saw it listed on trip advisor for San Francisco, I said to myself "what the .... there is no reason for this to be on trip advisor and I should make sure it is appropriately rated."

So I went over there (I love ATT park and I wanted to take some more pictures of the ball park anyway) and so I checked it out. It is actually more interesting then I expected. I definitely do NOT recommend it for a tourist to make a special trip just to see it, but if you are going to ATT park, it is an interesting bridge next to the ball park.

PS: they were filming a movie there last week (July 18, 2014) so maybe that is why I am being generous with the rating.

It goes up and down to accommodate sail boat with tall masts. It has no redeeming value esthetically or artistic architechtural distinction what-so-ever. It's a bridge that crosses over a boat canal and why it even appears here as an "attraction" is beyond me.

This small draw bridge is not worth seeing, not worth being listed among San Francisco's attractions. It is next door to AT&T Park, however, so if you're out to see a Giants game, the bridge is right there. If you're obsessed with obscure bridges.
