FIrst, PianoFlight Bar where we seen David Gerard "Signs" show PianoFlight is in heart of Union Square. Bouncer checks you out at door, to keep the homeless people out at night. So, this place is a Old Rustic Bar that has live one off bands playing at night on a small stage to attract a drinking bar crowd (not a high class establishment you would want to take your mother). When we arrived there was a quirky guy playing a washboard singing and caring on... so you get the drift. Bar drinks are $8-12 for beer to mixed drink.
NOW for the DAVID GERARD SHOW: 10 min before the show starts you lign up to go in a back room for the show, this room turned out to be a VERY SMALL movie theater style seating maybee 50 seats. Apparently, there are other rooms with similar small theatrical or musical showing events that PianoFlight puts on at same time. DAVID GERARD IS LAS VEGAS CALIBER!!! We saw Matt Franco in Vegas last week and HANDS DOWN David is light years ahead of Matt and a better showman. Davids audience participation is astounding. All tricks keep you guessing as he overlaid the magic tricks with each other causing confusion and suspense but all deliberate as you saw at the end of trick. Some items you could guess how it was done ,others left you baffled but all were insanely humorous and expertly performed that kept you enthralled recognizing that you were in mists of a amazing talentd showman. If you get a chance this is a MUST SEE SHOW... David will eventually be found and be on a Las Vegas stage I just can not believe David is playing at such a small SF venue with all that talent for only $10 a ticket....

Wonderful place for live music .
Nice beers on tap. Very friendly staff. However, ordered Martinis
With Nolet gin. First one was so diluted it could have passed for water. The second , was a glass of
Olive juice and undrinkable. In thinkable how Gin with a couple drops of Vermouth could be screwed up!!!! I would still go back, but only drink draft. 5 stars for the music venue, 5 for the server , zero for the epic failing mixology.

If you have tickets to one of Pianofight's fabulous comedy shows, make your evening stress free by eating at Pianofight before the show. Great burgers, salads and more. Menu sometimes changes. Full bar. Friendly and fun atmosphere with live music. Tickets for the live shows are usually an extremely reasonable 25 bucks or less , and the shows are always changing.

My husband and I really enjoyed this venue. The food and drinks were great and the servers were friendly. We enjoyed the piano music while eating. What a lively place! The improv festival theater was small so the audience all got to feel the true improv experience.

We saw David Gerard (mentalist, mind tricks) here and we're totally blown away. Highly recommend his small-audience show - funny and clever without embarrassing anybody individually. The bar itself is old, small and intimate but for our-of-towners: have an escape plan for when you leave as the area ain't great late at night. Our Uber suggested to walk purposefully avoiding eye contact straight to Mark 55 Hotel around the corner or Hilton Hotel close by for pick up. Don't let it put you off attending - we did this and were fine. See David's show if you can - highly recommended.
