Went on a hiking tour with Randy a couple of days back and it was a lotta fun. Had gone hiking a few times before but wanted a guide this time around as I had no idea about the place. And it was worth it. Randy knows the place inside out and helped us navigate. He knew everything about the flowers, soil, trees, mountain, waterfall etc. If you guys are planning to go hiking in Asheville, make sure you ask for Randy.

I joined both waterfalls and elks tour, they provide pick up and drop off service in downtown, which is very convenient. And they know the city and the mountains very well, I learned and saw a lot of different things in the tour. I had a great time with them!

Jennifer, the biologist who led our tour, not only took us through the majestic Pisgah National Forest and showed us stunning waterfalls; she taught us about the land through geological, biological, and sociological perspectives. This tour is an absolute must for any age, for Jennifer modifies the tour based on those in attendance. Plus, Jennifer’s warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm make this sojourn worth it!!!

This was a great day! We partook on a beautiful scenic North Carolina drjve until we reached a spot where there were a herd of wild Elk grazing peacefully in the valley pasture. They were gorgeous and majestic, completely unfazed by our stopping to get photos. The herd was complete with many full grown females, nearby bulls, and adorable calves. Then we traveled to see and explore the old Cataloochee schoolhouse and an abandoned but stately house previously owned by an affluent family in the area at the turn of the century. It was all very charming and our guides Randy and Jennifer made it even better by educating us on the history of the area and sharing their expertise and knowledge of the native flora and fauna. What a great experience! So glad I went!!

Took a three hour hike with Randy as our guide. two adults and two kids ages 9 and 11.

Randy was amazing with our kids, and we learned a ton about plant and animal life in the area. hike was fairly easy, limited elevation, but lots to see. ended at a nice waterfall area to rest and snack up. about three miles total.

Randy made the trip fantastic. it was like a eco tour of the area and he made it special for our family. highly recommended.
