We usually do not eat Mexican food except in the company of people who do. My daughter, son-in-law, and family do eat Mexican often, and this their favorite for a quick and comparatively inexpensive lunch. We have eaten at El Que Pasa several times with them and the food is good (as best we can tell). It is *crowded* and sometimes there is a wait for a table, and service can be a little slower when crowded, so prepare for a sit-down experience, not a fast-food or buffet experience.

Coming to Asheville from Texas, it took some time to find just the right place for a good Mexican meal. This place had lots of the local hispanic crowd. ( Always a good sign) We opted for standard fare plying it safe. All was good!! A few special touches made thing even better. The menu is huge and we will be more adventurous next time. Atmosphere was perfect. The service was fantastic.

This restaurant is inside a strip mall and the outside is sketchy. Once inside, you have your typical decor. We were seated quickly. Served chips, no salsa. Instead it looked like watered down refried beans. Chips had been drenched in salt. Had to brush off each chip to eat. Got cheese dip as appetizer. Cheese was warm, half melted plain cheese. Nothing to add flavor. Ordered steak chimichanga. No toppings, just cheese. The steak was in large strips and so tough I could barely chew it. Served with plain yellow rice, again with no flavor. I had high hopes due to ratings on trip advisor. Can't win them all!

We go there a lot. The food is always very good and they have a great salsa bar to compliment your dinner. The Mango Habanero chicken wings are awesome. Who would have thought that a Mexican restaurant would have excellent chicken wings?

I wish it wasn't in a strip mall.
