Nice Irish pub with free live Irish music and good service. Group of 9 musicians were playing on a Sunday night. Very good music, ale and service. See photos once posted.

The food is good and the Green Man Beer is great but the highlight that separates this pub from others is the spontaneous live music. Several men and women playing their instruments together makes one feel a touch of Ireland.

Wanted to see downtown Asheville and a friend recommended this restaurant. As I was there late afternoon, it was not crowded, and the service was 'southern slow'. Fortunately I had plenty of time and enjoyed the musician (acoustic guitar/singer). The beer was cold and the Guinness pie (kinda like shepherds pie, but a little different), great, and not such a huge serving that you could overeat, leaving room for another beer. Its a bit pricey, but not for the location.

Come for the great music, have a pint and tap your toes... then look elsewhere for food.

The music jams we saw on Wednesday and Thursday evenings were the highlights of our visit to Asheville. But $6 for a basket of stale chips and some tomato sauce? And don't believe the website menu: they are "between chefs" now and have a very limited fare.

But the music... GREAT!

Music was amazing!!! Service was friendly and fast. You must try the quesso they make in house and the fish and chips were delicious!!! This is a great place to just chill out and listen to great Irish bands.
