The sheer quality of this memorial is breath taking, to showcase the Irish movement to Boston and the reasons behind it, its worth stopping and easily found on the freedom trail.

This week done memorial is worth a stop. It's along the path of the Freedom Trail, and it's incredibly well done.

a moving monument commemorating the wave of Irish immigrants arriving in the Boston area to escape the famine in Ireland. The signage around the monument was very informative and the statues were striking. Just off the Freedom Trail across from the Old Corner Bookstore and the Old South Meeting House, it is easy to find.

If you are on the Freedom Trail this memorial is worth walking through and reading about it's purpose. It's meant to show a family that is on the verge of starvation in Ireland but healthy and growing while living in America. It is quite sad and inspiring at the same time.

The statues are beautifully done and there is information on the Famine with signs asking to show respect by not feeding birds in the memorial. It looks as if at least everyone that day, if not all the time, respect that.
