Came here on recommendation of a friend. Clam chowder is excellent and was the food. I ordered a cup of chowder, and I should have ordered a bowl.. Yum . The service was great, our server came back to check on us several times to make sure our dining experience was being enjoyed.

Okay, we didn't eat there but just visiting the oldest operational restaurant in the United States is great. It's located right along the Freedom Trail so there is no reason to not stop by and snap a pick.

Food was GREAT! Staff was amazing and beyond friendly! Atmosphere was excellent-one of the best places we have eaten at and will definitely go again before we leave.

The food was good ...but it was like eating in a barnyard. We were seating next to (and almost of top of ) 2 tables with 6 -8 people at each table In a space that would comfortably seat only 4 - 8 in total. The noise level was beyond annoying. We got out of there as soon as we could and would never recommend the place to anyone!

Was there with my girlfriend and brother and sister-in-law. Great atmosphere and depth of history. Staff were great and enjoyed interacting with them. Food was good to great. Lobster roll, crab cakes, chowder and cornbread all excellent. Cocktails were good as well. Shrimp ravioli was a bit underwhelming. Waiter and kitchen staff specifically made gravy upon sister-in-law's request. They don't have this on their menu. I would like to note it was pretty darn good gravy! Would recommend the place for the food, atmosphere and service!
