This was a business dinner for six. I won't be able to name everything, but I'll describe anything that I at least shared in. The table shared BEEF TENDERLOIN, MASHED POTATO & WHITE TRUFFLE OIL, which was excellent. The mashed potato texture, combined with the cheese texture was a surprise. On ordered and shared SEARED FOIE GRAS WITH CONFIT OF DUCK IN BRIOCHE, WISCONSIN DRIED CHERRY GASTRIQUE which was bursting with RICH flavor. My wife and I shared the STEAMED BLACK MUSSELS WITH SMOKED TOMATO MARINIÈRE, which was made special by the tomato mariniere permeating.

My main course was the Colorado lamb chops. The servicing was generous at six, thicker than average chops, as tender as I've ever had, anywhere in the world. My wife had the GRILLED TENDERLOIN OF BEEF, VIN ROUGE, OLIVE OIL ROASTED BROCCOLINI & HORSERADISH WHIPPED POTATO, which was tender and tasty. I'd say it was a top level piece of meat, but simply very good. One raved about the Dover sole. I'm forgetting what the others had, other than a couple of more tenderloin.

For dessert, I had the homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream and my wife had the ginger toffee cake. Both were "special". Several, including my wife, had lemon cello, which was fine.

All of this was paired with a couple of bottles of exceptional wines. The wine list includes some very special wines, at appropriate prices (expensive).

Everything was very good and a few things were exceptional.

We travel to Boston twice a year and we always try to score a reservation at Mistral because it's the most dependably wonderfully delicious place to dine in the city because we're foodies. This past weekend was no exception. Their foie gras appetizer is always my favorite, and it's large enough to share. Both my husband and I had the halibut over risotto entree and without a doubt it was THE best, most delectable, perfectly prepared piece of fish we've ever eaten, and that's saying sometime. We were too full for a "regular" dessert so we shared a scoop of their homemade vanilla ice cream, which, not surprisingly, was scrumptious.

A recent business trip took me to Boston where I had the opportunity to enjoy some fine dining opportunities. I would rate Mistral as the best overall based on food, atmosphere and service. Our server was Edwin and he was professional, very pleasant and attentive yet not intrusive. His recommendations were spot on.
The mushroom risotto appetizer was delicious and my favorite of the various selections we sampled. Everyone was equally impressed with their main courses and the duck I had was perfectly prepared. They had a broad selection of wines to fit every budget. To cap off the evening, we had a tasty selection of desserts which were all exquisite.
It was an excellent evening and it is a great place to celebrate.

Nice atmosphere, nice food, correct prices...and a superior level for the pastry ! we spend there an hour and a half for brunch on sunday. Of course it is not really french food (I'm french), nevertheless an excellent achievement.

Excellent food and atmosphere! The tenderloin, mashed potato pizza with white truffle oil may have been THE BEST thing I have EVER eaten. So amazing! Will definitely make a point to return when we are in Boston again!
