What a step back in time. It is an amazing drive from Tupelo to Nashville. Many great history stops and crossing the TN River is very unusual. Stay close to the speed limit....they will get you....55 max..

I travel the Trace whenever I can because the scenery is so beautiful, and it is always clean and quiet. No traffic lights. No big trucks. Lots of interesting places to stop and investigate. Take a couple of days and go from Nashville to Natchez, spending the night in Tupelo. Stop at all of the interesting places and you'll get a real history lesson.

I drive it often and the speedlimit is only 50mph, but you never know what wild-life you will see. There is a reason the speedlimit is 50. a lot of deer & turkeys I always see!

It's kinda like the Smoky Mountain park or the Blue Ridge Parkway, except without the mountains. There are dozens and dozens of places to stop and learn about the time before and after the early settlers came through here. And Indians, they were all around the trace area before we ran them out. Drive a few miles or hundreds between Natchez and Nashville and take it easy! Enjoy the view.
