I chaperoned a high school group to San Diego in March. One of the trip highlights was swimming at Mission Beach. Many in my group had never been in an ocean and the ice cold water in March did not deter them from having a ball swimming. Those who wanted to sunbathe had warm, sunny weather to accommodate them. Others, who did not want to swim, walked on the beach or visited the shops and amusement park. Mission Beach is a lovely beach that offers something for eveyone. There are public bathrooms/changing rooms on the beach and lifeguards on duty. Any time I bring a group to San Diego, an afternoon at Mission Beach will be on the itinerary.
