We were expecting fine Italian food, based on the recommendations of this restaurant as one of the best in SD's Little Italy, but were disappointed with food that was just ordinary. The restaurant is pretty, the service is excellent, and it has a nice buzz, even if it is a bit noisy, but the pasta is made by someone with a heavy hand, and the servings are huge. A gnocchi dish is big enough for a family of four and is a turnoff. Quantity doesn't make up for quality. Sauces are traditional American Italian fare.
