I stayed here last night. The booked price was $139/night. When I arrived, they told me that the booked price did not include their daily $26 amenities fee + tax. Booked price per night was $139. Actual price per night was $185. Be advised that they will stick it to you when you get there and basically engage in false advertising pricewise. I will not be staying here again. . . . . I appreciate honesty! . . . .and I am a Sheraton Gold member. Also, although listed as a 4 star hotel - definitely not!

Hello Johnee2017,

We value guest feedback and we thank you for taking the time to share yours. We hope our great location and rooms served you well, but we are disappointed that your experience was not stellar. Stayed in the Marina Tower for 4 nights for a conference. Room was clean, but the deadbolt didn't work, and the bathtub sagged in spots, it felt like the support beneath it was rotted. Balcony was nice, and there was a mini-fridge.

There's a club lounge on the top floor, served a nice continental breakfast and hors d'oeuvres in the evening, enough that you could cover two meals there. It advertised snacks during the day, but outside of the breakfast and dinner hours nothing was available other than drinks. The furnishing desperately need replacement, they were very stained and threadbare.

The resort fee is over $28 per day, with tax, so be aware. Part of that gives you $10 credit at the restaurants, so you feel obligated to use it and spend even more money. I didn't use any of the amenities the fee supposedly covered.

If you're not there for a conference, I would recommend a hotel closer to the convention center and Gaslamp district. You're closer to activities, not limited in your choice of restaurants, and not hit with the ridiculous resort fee.

Located on the waterfront with a view of the bay and the myriad of boats moored as far as you can see. A beautiful setting. It is a large hotel of about 1050 rooms and was a very busy hotel the day we arrived. Many people moving in and out as with any hotel this size but managed with speed and efficiency. We were with a group leaving on a cruise the next day. Rooms were not ready since we arrived in the mid-morning but we passed the time walking around the bay or watching the Olympics in the sports bar which had better food than one normally imagines in a sports bar. The rooms were ready by mid-afternoon and we all received texts as our individual rooms became available. Much credit to the management and staff for handling all of this so smoothly and with pleasant efficiency.

The room was fine: relatively large, modern in appearance, quiet and comfortable. It looked out at the roof and not the bay which was not the best view and I suspect one-night guests in a group were given these rooms - or it simply was the luck of the draw. Not a complaint, just an observation.

The dining room is contemporary and one entire wall looks out on the marina. The wine list is very adequate and the food very good. Service was prompt and efficient and pleasant.

Major impression is of the staff: efficient, pleasant, friendly, and courteous. No matter what the level of staff one interacted with, the friendliness and efficiency were always the same. The excellence of the staff defined the hotel for me.

Prices are on the high side but this is California and things all seem to cost a bit more than the Central US. However, the use of WiFi in the hotel was $12.95 for members of the cruise party and $7.95 for other guests. A strange distinction. Given the amount of money we all were leaving at the hotel, the $5.00 difference certainly left much more of a negative impression than the few extra dollars it brought in. Not sure why the hotel would charge anyone for WiFi since many, if not most, hotels simply include it at no cost - i.e., bury it in the room charge.

Despite this, the overall impression was very good, we slept well, the food was very good, and the service excellent.

We stayed at the Bay Towers, 11th floor, for 4 nights. We had a great view of downtown San Diego & the Naval Base across the bay. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. I just wish they had a refrigerator to store the left overs we brought home every night. There's a nice restaurant on the main floor that served a breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner. Service there was great. The pool at the Bay Towers was not as large as the one at the Marina Tower. Also, the Spa is located at the Marina Tower which is just a 10 minute walk away. We wanted to purchase tickets for Sea World and those were only at the Marina Towers. If you wanted to take advantage of some water sports, that would also be at the Marina Tower. So if you had a choice you should maybe stay at the Marina Towers? Overall a good experience.
