Was there a wait to get in? Yup - about 1 hour (since it's also Labor Day weekend).
Did we care? Nope - we walked down along the beach for a while, then popped back up to wait the remaining 15 min close by the buzzer.

Our table was right next to the shuck-station/shellfish boil, so we had some entertainment watching the action (and watching the people in line). It's a very casual place, and plenty of people packed in - but drinks were good, and the seafood was excellent.
I had the fish tacos (delicious), the others had the lobster roll and/or crab salad. The meal was delicious and clearly fresh. If I had had more room in my stomach (and if I could stomach waiting in the steamer line for 30 min), I would have ordered oysters as well.

Definitely a must-do in the area. Great time!

We have been loyal guests at the beachcomber every summer for the past 15 Years and were rarely disappointed.

Last Monday toward the end of August we face the first
totally "off day " at this great establishment.
Almost Nothing was working as it should!
Many of the most delicious dishes were not available!

No Mussels
No steamers

The oysters which are usually of nice size were much smaller then usual this Monday , Why??

The grilled chicken salad was return to the nice waitress
twice and then was taken off the check ( cold pieces of chicken ,Most likely steamed but definitely not grilled)

A restaurant can not be judged negatively just for having one
"Bad" day, but this Monday was one of those days.

Even the loaded notches were not served as usual.

No doubt the restaurant was operated without the regular chef
In command.
This Monday the Beachcomber was like a ship without a
Captain in charge.
Still I gave it 4 stars as I hope that when we visit here again next time we should really enjoy our experience as we did in previous summers!

My family agrees, we're not really on vacation until we eat at the Beachcomber. Such memories. Sandy feet on the wood porch, order separately for the raw bar, be happy. And someday it's going to wash into the ocean, so enjoy while it lasts. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi people!

Good bar food. Drinks are worth it. Famous history and worth reading about it on the menu. Very good music and noisy. We had a blast. One last thing: don't forget to buy a t shirt
