this bridge has great views of manhattan but it does get really crowded, it has a bike lane and it gets so packed you have to walk the bikes

We were staying in Manhattan and took the subway into Brooklyn then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge back into Manhattan. It was fabulous! The views of the skyline - amazing - and it was just so cool to walk across the bridge. It was pretty crowded though.

DUMBO is a section of Brooklyn that takes in two neighborhoods - one between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Brooklyn neighborhood Vinegar Hill.

Now a historic district, DUMBO has emerged as a premier arts area, with galleries, a chocolate factory and other culinary businesses. Jerry Seinfeld once joked on a late-night talk show that the acronym actually stands for "Down Under Manhattan Bridge," but New Yorkers arbitrarily added the "O" because they didn't want to live in a neighborhood called "Dumb."

Beware of inconsiderate cyclists. There are stairs on the Manhattan side, not well signposted. Best to go from Brooklyn side, but we we’re on the way to watch The Islanders Ice hockey in Brooklyn. Lots of stops to get good pictures.

Reached just before sunset and could get views of Manhattan from light to dark. The skyline looks real majestic.
This is a popular place to visit - judging by the number of pedestrian tourists seen on the bridge.
