We visited for lunch on a Sunday after a Museum tour and arrived early before the crowds and were seated easily right at noon. We decided one pizza (margarita with artichoke) and salad as we didn’t want to be carrying leftovers around. That was the perfect size to share if you are hungry but not starving. For a party of 3 or more people you need 2 or more pizzas. The meal was delicious but not as amazing as several years ago....still some of the best pizza in NYC and worth a visit.

New York City. So much to see and do!

Keste Pizza and Vino was on my wife's 'must see / eat there' list for her 1st visit to NYC.

Located at 271 Bleecker Street in the West Village ( Greenwich Village ), Keste is a relatively small restaurant on a 'side street' between 6th Ave & 7th Ave near Washington Square Park.

Pizza! Menu presents many options for salads, antipasti, and Neapolitan style pizza. All made with fresh ingredients ... Oven baked. Don't believe you can make a 'bad' choice ... if only I could eat more ...

Our order consisted of 2 pizzas - one with white sauce ( Prosciutto & Arugula ) and one with red sauce ( Keste ). First pizza - the Prosciutto & Arugula - consists of fresh mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma, arugula, grana, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. Second pizza - the Keste - consists of tomato sauce, imported buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma, arugula, gran cru pecorino, basil, and extra virgin olive oil.

Also ordered a couple of beer - Peroni and Menabrea Amber - and a soft drink for daughter.

Thoroughly enjoyed both pizzas ...

Service was friendly, professional.

Total bill excluding tip / gratuity was $65 for 3 .. Sooo good but not expensive.

Highly recommend!!

We had watched a you_tube video about this place, where real Neapolitans were showing how to make real Neapolitan pizza dough with Neapolitan imported pizza flour, imported italian tomatoes and cheese. Yet, when we showed up at the pizza place, there were no Neapolitans and no Italians either for that matter. Wouldn’t anyone be concerned if the cook in the Chinese restaurant wasn’t Chinese? Or the Mexican meal not prepared by a Mexican? Why is it that everyone thinks they can make the real pizza without being Neapolitans? No one is ever, ever, ever going to dare stopping anyone from making whatever pizza they want, you can make a New York pizza, a Chicago pizza, a Santa Clause North Pole pizza, who cares? But when you claim to make the real thing, well, then ……..

In New York, you have to eat pizza. And this west Village spot is surely one of the best. Individual, 11- inch pizzas might run around $18 for a loaded version. And it's really, really good thin crust pizza, and it comes fast once you place your order.
