“A GREAT FIND!”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

Thank you, Trip Advisors, for recommending the Soho Courtyard! It was the perfect location - very quiet and within walking distance to many shops and cafes. We stayed in room 1705, which included a great view of the midtown skyline. As many reviewers have mentioned before, the hotel staff was terrific - always cheerful and happy to help in any way possible. Highly recommend this resonably priced Manhattan hotel!!!

Prior to arriving at this property, we requested early check in and the highest floor possible. We arrived 2 hours before the check in time and we were given two options 1) early check in but the room will be on the second floor or 2) check-in at 3 pm with a room at the highest floor. We opted for the latter. They held our luggage for us while we went around the area.
Upon check in, I was expecting a small room (as most NYC hotel rooms are small). This room was definitely small so be prepared! It barely had room to store clothes and did not have any space to store your luggage. You are better off leaving your clothes in your luggage! In addition, you cannot have both doors to the bathroom and closet open at the same time. If you open the door to get out of the bathroom (without being careful), you can accidentally hit the person by the closet. That said, the basics you would typically want in a hotel room are available (e.g., TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, safe, coffee maker). Wireless internet connection is free. But be cautioned, it is extremely slow and spotty.
The bed was comfortable, but if you are a light sleeper, you would constantly wake up to people going in and out of the elevator, and guests and hotel staff conversations in the hallway. I guess the walls/doors are paper thin.
The property seemed to be new and clean. It is located by the subway and not far from the Holland tunnel (area gets very congested during rush hour).

This hotel was very clean and nicely furnished. The room was smaller than we like since only one person could walk at a time between the bed and the dresser/desk/TV. The downtown Marriott (near World Trade Center) had much larger rooms but was more expensive. The staff was very nice. They checked our bags for us before check in. The lobby was very nice also. The location is good as you can walk to many restaurants and shops in Soho. It is next to a subway stop also. Our view was not good as it looked out over tops of other buildings.

We stayed here on a quick trip to NYC to do some wedding planning. The hotel is in a great location for being able to catch the 1 subway and within easy walking distance of Soho which offers a variety of shops and restaurants. The rooms are also very quiet and the floor to ceiling windows are great. My only complaint about this hotel is the traffic around it during rush hour in the evening can be particularly bad because of how close to the Holland Tunnel you are. Other than that though I would easily stay here again.

I found this hotel a gem in a great Manhattan location. A plus is the option to find street parking instead of paying $30 or more a night for parking. The staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. The rooms quiet, comfortable and clean.
