We tossed around a few well- known options but were very happy we chose to stay at the Pearl. The staff are friendly and helpful, the complimentary continental breakfast is excellent, the location is amazing, rooms are noiseless, clean and modern (incredibly for NY ours was relatively large), the wi-fi was free and the gym has first class equipment. Will definitely stay there again and our friends (who stayed elsewhere) were wishing they'd stayed at the Pearl when they came around.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a premium queen room and we fronted the street which i thought may be a little n...

If your trip to NYC includes theatre tkts to Broadway shows or trade shows at Javits Center, this location is perfect. Rooms are very quiet, large, great beds and bed linens, beautiful bathrooms and even a microwave and mini fridge in room. Exceptional service by staff. Cross town busses right there so easy to get around. Lobby unimpressive and selecttion at free continental breakfast could be improved Food Emporium super market half a block away along with lots of restaurants.

After many hours of comparison on trip advisor we selected the Pearl for our 7 night stay in NYC and boy, what a great choice it turned out to be. Executive summary: I recommend to book it if you are looking for a spacious room at a very competitive price in a central location.

Location: The hotel is situated at 100m from Broadway / Time Square and to two of the main subway lines. We like to walk a lot during our city trips and the central location gave us a great start each morning in either direction. Central park is on 20 mins walking, 5th Avenue is on 15 mins, Madison Park is on 30 mins. Broadway is literally on your doorstep and although Time Square obviously is busy, we were not bothered at night by outside noise. The location is very safe, there are always people around in the street.

Price: average price for 7 nights was around 220$ per night, which we considered a great deal, especially when comparing to the alternative hotels in this area. Breakfast is simple, but sufficient and for free! Initially we planned to have breakfast outside the hotel anyway, but we changed our mind after the first breakfast experience. Although limited in choice compared to big hotels (no scrambled eggs, no coffee service, no cheese selections etc), the toast, bagels, muffins and pastry were more than enough to have a good start of the day. Yoghurts, serials, juice, coffee/tea, all the basics are present. It is constantly being stocked as well, we never ran out of anything. Considering the fact that is all for free, we have no issue with the fact that it is served on plastic plates.

Room: the room was the biggest surprise. It was as spacious as the rooms we have encountered in most big hotel chains outside New York. The inventory was very complete and offered far more than we needed, the design was very contemporary and the bed was comfortable. Although we did not spend much time in the room (basically only the nights), it was a pleasure to return each day. A suggestion for improvement is that the aircon system cannot be turned off, which we actually prefer to do at night. There is some minor street noice during the night, but that is acceptable considering the prime location and the fact that you are in NYC and it did not bother us at all.

Staff: in short - very friendly and very helpful.

The Pearl really has over delivered on our expectations and we will definitely book it again next time we are in NYC.

If you're headed to NYC to see Broadway shows, this could be your hotel. It's a small hotel, with good service, free WiFi, free breakfast and a free wine happy hour (pretty unusual freebies for Manhattan). My room was well furnished by New York standards, and everything was in working order. All of the theaters are nearby, within walking distance. The hotel often upgrades guests, which is also a nice perk.

My complaints: apparently there's no room service breakfast, there were no electrical outlets near the desk in the room, which meant I had to plug in my phone and computer elsewhere (kind of ruins the idea of a even having a desk).
