Plan to spend some time here! Way too much to see in a month let alone a day. We really enjoyed the exhibits. They are extremely well done.

Thought this was just a natural history museum but it also houses very interesting sections on the ancient cultures of the Americas as well as a small Earth and Space centre. Good variety of special exhibits, shows and the Hayden Planetarium too. Well worth a trip or two if you are visiting NYC.

This was a good experience however the only reason I have given it it 3/5 is because it's just far to big for anyone to get round in a day and the lack of interactive displays mean that's it's just glass cabinet after glass cabinet of animals and people.

One thing we found out is that Wednesday is pay what you like day to enter the museum, take advantage of this, especially if you're like us and watching your money slide through your fingers in this expensive city xxx

We walked through Central Park to get to the Natural History Museum on the recommendation of someone we’d met a few days before.

We had free entrance on our New York Pass - and thank god we didn’t pay! We’re a couple in our mid-30s, and we felt like we were back on a boring school trip. It was packed with children and very geared towards education. The map was impossible to follow and we left after about 20 minutes.

Avoid!

Got there early, no real line, got right in....the place is huge, lots of great exhibits, son spent most of time with the dinosaurs, really great collection. I wanted to see Amazon Adventure movie, it was just okay, probably a little too long and we were anxious to get back to the exhibits, Great day!
