Loved everything about this place. Everything we had was delicious. We had the Cretan meatballs and grilled octopus to start. Mains were duck moussaka (incredible) and short ribs over an orzo risotto. Wonderful light whipped cream torta for dessert. It was ironic that the service was excellent and yet this is a no tipping restaurant. Tables were spaced nicely. Go there.

We initially visited Nerai because it was well reviewed and very convenient for our hotel. It was so good we returned for dinner a second time the following evening. Every member of the team - hosts and waiting staff - conveys enthusiasm, detailed knowledge of the menu and genuine warmth. The food is Greek influenced, stylishly presented with modern flavour combinations. We opted to take advice on the wine to match our menu choices and on both nights the recommendations worked beautifully. Overall we felt it offered good value for money as was evidenced by the fact it was busy on both (week)nights we were there. Book so you don't miss the chance to eat in Nerai.

My granddaughter, daughter-in-law and I went to NYC for a week-end and chose this as our first restaurant of the week-end. We were not disappointed! We shared an appetizer of grilled octopus on a chick pea salad that was delicious and then I had the scallop main course, my granddaughter had the lemon chicken (and declared it to be "heaven" even though she's only 9) and my daughter-in-law had the duck moussaka. We really enjoyed the entrees and the suggested Greek wine pairings were also excellent. Portions were very generous without being overwhelming. We were seated upstairs, where it was quiet and elegant. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would definitely return when we get back to NY.

Saturday night dinner and absolutely loved it. Great food with awesome taste, fairly big portions, great Greek wine to go with it and a very nice and friendly service. Will definitely go again next time when in NYC. Quite small place so makes sense to book beforehand. Was a bit empty still at 7.30 so better to reserve a bit later

We read many reviews before selecting Nerai for our recent NYC trip. It lived up to our high expectations in every way! The service was attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was elegant but lively with fresh yet cozy decor. The food was awesome! We love moussaka and duck so of course we had the duck moussaka dish and it was wonderful. We also enjoyed the scallops (prepared perfectly). We started with oysters that were great and tuna tartare that was wonderful. It was all lovely and we highly recommend you don't miss this terrific restaurant. We returned for a second time during our 10 day trip and it was just as great the second time.
