We had Katz's Deli ship a package to us in Franklin, Tn. It arrived with ice still perfectly frozen so their packing/shipping method is great. The food however didn't live up to the packaging. We both found the 1/2 sour pickles to be completely tasteless and the entire bottle (minus 1/2 of one pickle) landed in the trash 20 minutes after box opening. Complete waste of money. The bagels were very ordinary and didn't come close to our local product. Another disappointment but understood as they had to have been at least 2 days old. The mustard, rye bread, babka and overly thick cut pastrami/roast beef were generally good but nothing was extraordinary. Overall a very expensive disappointment. A mistake that won't be repeated.

This is the third time in the past month I have ordered online and had shipped to NC. Everything is excellent. They do a great job on packing and shipping whatever tasty yummy item you order. The pastrami is very good. It really brings back memories of when I once experienced these taste thrills in person. Now I recall them through online ordering which is wonderful. I would highly recommend Katz deli. Don't have to believe me. Take a look at the thousands of reviews.

It is so sad to say that this is now a very unique restaurant. The city used to be filled with them. Absolutely love the pastrami, corned beef, pickles, and tongue. Wish there were more like them

The The place was full and buzzing and the atmosphere made the experience all the more memorable. Our waiter was wonderful. He was patient with us, explaining some of the things on the menu and offering advice.

Absolutely, 100% a must. Even if not in East Village, make the trek. By far the best pastrami on the planet.

Days later, I’m still thinking about it.

Sadly, due to covid, no indoor dining. Be prepared to eat in your car or find a spot to enjoy.
