There are PROS and CONS to staying in this suite:
PROS: Good location, close 10 min walk to Chelsea market, Highline, delis, restaurants. When supplies like toilet paper, dishwashing tablets were needed they were accommodating.
CONS: the homeless sleep outside this condo so there is yelling, fighting in evenings and smell of urine outside your bedroom windows!! Upper bedroom walls scuffed and very narrow (they have split 1 bedroom into 2). The condo entrance hallways needs painting as the walls are dirty and scuffed up! There was large hole with peeling paint by bathroom tub and hole where bathroom door handle may have bashed thru from previous tenants. Hardwood Floor boards broken in living room. We advised them of that but a rug and chair were placed over as their fix while we were there. Bar stools were broken. Upon removing bedding from mattresses there were long black hairs, fuzz, etc on mattress pads not cleaned off. As Canadians paying $900 cdn per nite it was just ok and did not meet our higher expectations. Suite is smaller than pictures show. And there's only 1 bathroom/shower combo for 6-8 people to share
The apartment is within easy walking distance of several subway stations, supermarkets, the Highline and Chelsea markets. Restaurants abound in NY and several good eateries are close by. Inside it is surprisingly quiet.
About the only issue was the poor quality cutlery and lack of a sharp knife or 2.
Everything worked in the apartment and when we asked for wine glasses (there were only 2 on arrival), the Maeve staff arrived with more that morning. The Maeve staff were also helpful with left luggage.
The washing machine and dryer were a great asset. The aircon units in each room are a bit noisy, but they work well.
Great location with a beautiful deli/store at the end of the block. Easy transportation to anywhere in the city.
Location is great, near shopping, restaurants & transit. Home is in good shape, no problems. West Side Mkt down the block is great, selection of food. Safe neighborhood. Only issue was loud teenagers outside one evening and some street noise being on first floor. Would stay again. Prop manager was helpful and showed us everything.
This accommodation suited our family of 4 adults & 2 children perfectly. It was close to facilities & metro. It was within walking distance to Union Square & Chelsea Markets. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a similar stay in New York
