My husband and I decided to go use the spa facilities on our trip away to NYC for his birthday. Everyone should know that from the outside the building is a little sketchy. You have to make sure to take the correct elevator and you will hear karaoke music blasting from the different floors. The spa itself is very pretty and the staff was nice enough. It only appeared that the manager spoke English which is difficult when you are trying to figure out what is available to do. We weren't really given a tour of the spa and any real details. For $170 for the two of us we had 5 options. There were two soaking tubs, one cold and the other warm, bath like water. Neither had jets or flowing water. Then there were three saunas....the dry sauna was beautiful but too hot to stay in for more than a couple of minutes. I felt like I would be burned if I sat down on the wooden benches. There was also a wet/steam sauna which I was really looking forward to until I walked it. It is so incredibly hot and steamy that again we could only last a few minutes because I could barely breath. It's already really steamy and then very often they pump more steam in, my husband felt like it was burning his legs. Then there was the "detox" sauna which we thought finally there was somewhere we could relax and stay in for an extended period of time! But this one was almost room temperature! It wasn't warm at all so it felt like we were just lying in a regular room. We were offered champagne and water and fruit but it was unclear whether they charged for items while you were there. The facilities are very pretty and I can't speak to the services because we only used the spa but I would never go back because of the money we paid and the lack of things to use. We were hoping for a super relaxing time but had a lot of frustration because nothing was a comfortable temperature to relax in. There were other people there that seemed to have the same complaints.
