We stayed for 5 days in April in this nice little hotel. The rooms are clean, the beds are fine and the staff is friendly and professional. there is complementary icecold water, tea and coffee in the small lobby. So compared to the price and if you have an intense wish of staying relatively cheap in central Soho, CITY ROOMS+ NYC Soho is a good choice.

But you have to consider that the traffic noise from the corner of Canal and Lafayette is loud and if you furthermore need the heater/cooler to be turned on it is like sleeping in an old noisy refigerator...

Furthermore the hotel really needs some sort of smaller lounge area - especially when the rooms are so small. Hotel free wifi is quite slow.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high up as possible and as long way from Canal as possible. That will say 301,302...

Had a couple of days in NYC and stayed at City rooms Soho. The rooms are very small, but modern and clean. We stayed at 2nd floor, so there was a lot of noise from the street, and the room was shaking from the subway - would recomend a higher floor. But still I had a very good stay and when your are in NYC you don´t spend that much time at the hotelroom:-) The staff was fantastic, welcoming and helpfull with whatever question we had. Every morning there was fresh coffee in the lobby.
I will defenitly come back to stay next time I visit NYC.

Room Tip: Less noise at the higher floors

We visited Manhattan in early March just as the storm was due to hit the city. We flew into JFK and had booked a room in City Rooms, we caught a yellow taxi which took us for a flat fare of $52 from the airport into Manhattan well worth the money. We arrived at 7pm and the sun had already set, the building from the outside is easy to spot with the painting on it. On arrival the Lady on reception was very helpful and cheery. We were allocated room 203 a Queen room, having read previous reviews on here we expected it to be small however we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the bathroom. The room contained a safety deposit box, small fridge and an awesome heating/cooling system. In terms of location the hotel is 20 minutes away from the 9/11 memorial, and 30 minutes away from union Square. We walked everywhere to begin with which explains the 80 miles we walked in 6 days. The trainsport system is very well established and I highly recommend using the subway during the day. It's a flat rate of $2.75 regardless of how far your travelling. The yellow cabs are more fair in terms of pricing that Uber cabs which we looked at. For example the yellow cab cost us $22 from 45th Street on a BUSY Saturday Evening to the hotel. It cost us $11 from 35th Street one Thursday evening, for the same journey Uber were quoting $40. The hotel does not offer to hold your luggage if you have a late flight however we found a great place named City Co Pilot which was a few streets away. This business holds luggage for $10 per bag between 9am and 7pm daily, you can find it on Allen Street. We wouldn't hesitate to stay with City Rooms again when we visit the city. Great value for money, lovely staff and clean rooms.

This hotel is really good, thoose Bangladesh people really knows his work. They help you in everything, information, print tickets if you need, etc. They have coffee and chocolate free every time. City Rooms Soho have nice graphics details in walls and reception that really lets me feel in New York. Good and warm rooms, a desk to work and space for luggage.

Very well located, near the subway and at a walking distance from the main attractions in Manhattan. The room was not very big but was very cosy and perfect for this trip purpose. A special word for the staff who was very friendly and helpful all the time.

NEGATIVE: The traffic noise all day and night. But hey, it's New York baby! The city never sleeps, but the hotel wants you to do it and they have a gift for you that solves the problem! :-P You'll see!
