The hotel is in an excellent location - very central and close to all the attractions. The breakfast had a good choice with tea and coffee served all day. The rooms were always clean, were an adequate size and quiet. The roof terrace looked onto the Empire State Building and there was a gym available for guests. The Metro Grill was not cheap but the food was excellent quality and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping staff did a very good job and were always polite. We met two concierges during our stay - one was extremely helpful and knowledgable but the other one appeared to seem inconvenienced by questions and did not want to assist. The reception staff and doorman were also very courteous and welcoming.
I had previously emailed to say that my partner was celebrating his birthday during our stay and i had been promised that there would be a small gift in the room but this did not happen.
However overall i would not hesitate to recommend the Metro Hotel to anyone and will definitely stay there again. It is an excellent hotel that provides a good welcome and pleasant stay for guests and deserves its good reviews.
