Just our luck we arrived during the coldest week in November, The office kept apologizing for turning off the water to protect the pipes! They had advised everyone to fill their onboard tanks so they would have water to use so there was no problem. The site we had was by the stream and was beautiful and very large compared to some sites we have been in at other campgrounds. We will be back and greatly enjoyed our time here, close to the historic battlefield.

Pros – Near Gettysburg without being on top of it. Near grocery stores, downtown, everything you need to get to. On a major road, but it isn’t too noisy. Most sites are in the trees, although some are surrounding the playground grassy area. All sites are mostly level and you don’ t have to do a lot of adjusting.

Hook-ups are easy to get to, and you don’t need extra hoses or cords.Check in was easy, and it was especially nice of them to remember that we wanted to stay the whole week if they had a cancellation, and then even though we moved to a “premium site” they only charged us the rate for a regular site.

Good laundry facilities – really appreciated the bigger washer and dryers.

There are two bathhouses. The one not attached to the office was nicer. The showers were very clean and the water was wonderfully hot and lots of water pressure. The bathroom attached to the office, not so much. I know it was clean, but it really didn’t look it.

Cons – The premium sites are only premium because they are Creekside, and you don’t have anyone behind you. However, the premium site next to us was so small, you could barely fit the 15 footer they fit in it. There was a class A on another site that I must tip my hat to the driver, I couldn’t have maneuvered it into the site. To be honest, the less expensive site that we had first had more room.

Not comfortable at all using the fire ring at the premium site, it was literally less than 3 feet from the rig. We hoped our neighbors behind us paid attention to their fire, or our rear end would have suffered.

One note about the trees. They are walnut? and maples, and when the nuts come down, they can be deadly. Our neighbor next to us told us they had one of the larger nuts crash through their vent cover! So be aware during the fall months.

Nice wooded campground on a creek. The campground is located near the battlefields, and is quiet and well maintained. The sites are well spaced out. Very clean showers and restrooms. And they have the best ice cream.

We were Driving our 40’ coach south from Michigan and looking for a stay in historical Gettysburg on a gorgeous fall week and unaware of how big Halloween is in the parks..3 weekends! No openings so stayed in the overflow grassy lot at Artillery ridge. The next day we visited 3 or 4 parks, none looking too space friendly for big rigs. Lastly, we checked out Gettysburg campground and to our surprise they could easily accommodate large rigs with many being pull thrus. It’s a family run business and a labor of love, Karen at the front desk was very helpful, staff and owners very friendly, even after a month of Halloween-craziness! Ended up staying 3 nights which gave plenty of touring time at the outstanding visitor center , the Battlefields, in town, as well as time to relax before hitting the road again. This park is most likely the closest to Gettysburg. and easy to navigate thru town. Next time we’ll catch a movie at the Majestic. Donna and Gary Nelson

Very nice campground close to most everything. The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful. We travel with dogs and this campground is very pet friendly. We had a back-in site and it was very easy to put our 40 ft. Motorhome on the site. Would stay here again.
