Description: Your neighborhood Mediterranean hangout, dedicated to shared plates and culinary excellence. Find us in Rockville, DC, Clarendon, Baltimore, and Olney. Established in 2006. In the summer of 2006, long-time friends Ike Grigoropolous, Ted Xenohristos, and chef Dimitri Moshovitis came up with the idea for Cava Mezze over coffee. As three children of Greek immigrants, and life-long Rockville residents, they aimed to bring mezze-style dining of from their parents' home to their home. Despite opening their first Cava Mezze in a once desolate shopping center, the restaurant thrives as a neighborhood hangout. From hand-building tables, to smashing tiles, each founder and their family poured every ounce of their effort into making their first restaurant a success.

Literally, just stop reading and go there for brunch. I recommend sitting at the bar for faster service. This place is incredible.

Tonight (Friday) my husband and I dinner here with another couple. We had a reservation and were seated when we arrived. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable, with the right amount of light and music.

The staff is amazing! Our waitress helped us pick menu items and was attentive to our unspoken needs. A+ for her.

We ordered the roasted red pepper and feta dip, hummus, lollipop chicken, roasted cauliflower, zucchini fritters, chicken souvlaki, corn hush puppy, and scallop risotto. For dessert we had the Greek donuts and challah French toast. The lollipop chicken was the most amazing chicken I've had in years. The flavor of the honey and the tenderness of the chicken was perfect. The hush puppies and fritters are also delicious. You can't beat fried foods!

We spent 3 hours here, enjoying the food and conversation with friends. Don't rush off without trying the desserts!

Been here a handful of times for dinner for date night because we love it so much and the proprietor, Maurizio. Came for brunch for the first time and was not disappointed. We had the French toast, waffle, home fries, spicy lamb egg Benedict, and the yogurt parfait thing, the lemonades.... omggg, can’t give this place enough praise. Everything was delicious and just enough serving (tapas/small plate style). If I had the capacity (have 3 young children who can’t appreciate this kind of food yet ) I would make this our brunch spot. Will continue to patronize this place, love everything about it.

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday afternoon and we really enjoyed our food! There were 5 of us and we had a variety of items from the menu. We really enjoyed the fried cheese! The lamb sliders were amazing as were the meatballs!

The service was good, they were very attentive.

Dined at this restaurant on New Year's eve. The pita bread arrived warm with delicious olive oil and a spicy red paste for dipping. All the beer is on tap and is locally brewed. My husband had the arugula salad and I had the equivalent of a Greek salad which was large enough for 2. Arugula salad is suitable for 1 and is tasty with olive oil and pine nut dressing. Ordered the lamb chops with fingerling potatoes which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Potatoes crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The main course portion was small- 2 small chops and approx. 4 slices of potatoes. If you are really hungry order more sides or get the chef 55 which I will do next time and take home left overs. Waiter Dominic was pleasant and attentive. I really liked Cava Mezze and will go back. Park in the garage just 2 blocks down the street- $3.00 for parking most days.
