My husband has always been a Hyatt member. He had points to use so he thought a weekend get away would be nice. We chose Inner Harbor. Hotel is older and needs brightening and refreshing. The lobby and drive up is bleak and not welcoming. The girl who checked us in was attractive but obviously not happy in her job. She spoke very quickly with an accent...Was unsure of what she was saying especially with the noise from other people arriving. When asked what she said...she abruptly handed me a paper on the hotel and stared at me. Ok.....We found the pool and went out to see it on the 6th floor...No attendants to be found..There was a bar and a posted drink menu...No one to help. When leaving the pool, I felt something hit my head entering the building...I looked up and saw the ceiling was decaying. Obviously, no one cares. Ewww. While walking around Inner Harbor...We stopped at the Marriott by the marina...Beautiful! Great vibe. People smiling and greeting you. I am a Marriott member...I will continue to be. Very disappointed in the character and quality of this Hyatt! Tonight is my last night. Thank goodness.

This is a gleaming facility with a lovely layout and pleasant, energetic staff. The rooms were clean, and we had an expansive view of the inner harbor.

The main problem, and a large one, is the food quality and options. The room service menu is limited solely to a separate, fast-food dining room called "Market." Despite pleasant atmospherics, Market seems like it could have been beamed in from a gas station in Texas -- the quality of the offerings resembles that of a 7-11. There is no fresh produce, the sandwiches were remarkably bad, and there were very few options to begin with. It's hard for to imagine that anyone operating a hotel that caters to a sophisticated, cosmopolitan audience would choose to do things this way unless they were somehow coerced. I tried a sandwich, my wife tried a pasta, and they were both awful.

There is a main restaurant called "Bistro," and although it resides on an entirely different planet than "Market," it is not very good. Two nights in a row I ordered a salmon dish; in neither case was I offered an option as to how it would be cooked, and it both cases it was cooked through. Standard for high quality salmon is medium rare. Dinner was otherwise okay, but unremarkable.

The breakfast at Bistro was, however, pretty poor. Some of the worst French toast I have had in a while, and ditto with the pancakes. The buffet was also entirely a mediocrity.

I would emphasize that the staff at the restaurant were terrific and friendly. In fact, this is a very solid property. But for anyone who is remotely health conscious, the food could be a deal breaker.

There is a fitness center; the equipment is great, but it is windowless and claustrophobic. The outdoor pool has a lovely harbor view, although it is quite small.

Market should be completely overhauled, and a hard look should be taken at the Bistro kitchen. With massive improvement in those areas, this place would deserve a solid 5 stars.

Been staying at this place for several years now. The rooms are great. Get the harbor view! 12 TJ floor has the regency room. Nice snacks and deserts at night! Beer and wine...morning light breakfast. Now the staff, the staff from top to bottom is the best.

2017-07-06: With a party of 6, we had two rooms for a weekend at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The accomodations were comfortable and secure. Parking is expensive, but convenient. Lew and I had a king, and the rest of the family, 2 queen beds. There is a foot bridge over Light Street onto the Inner Harbor buildings to facilitate crossing Light Street. There is also a nice breakfast buffet to start the day. We will stay here again.

Wonderful hotel in great location. Call to see if there are other major events in the city as this causes staff to not be available during summer surge moments with too much going on. Our stay was mostly good but staff was thin because of a mole convention and major concert going on at the same time with lots of people booking rooms.
