The snowmobile tour was amazing!!! I asked our guide Andrew if he could find a moose since I’d been searching the whole time in AK. He took a different route and we saw 3. I was so happy! He took care of us- we saw lynx tracks as well. I had my 75 year old dad and two boys ages 8 and 10 with me. Everyone had a blast young and old. This is a must!!!! And while you’re there sign up for the dog sledding.

My dogsledding and snowmobile adventures conveniently start at the same location in North Pole, Alaska. Thank you for the review.

Such a fantastic experience! Our family of 4 (two adults, two kids) all had a great time. It was a warm day for Alaska in March (in the 20s) but cold for us, but we stayed totally warm- heated hand grips make a huge difference. We'd brought all the gear we needed but they offered tons of clothes to borrow too. The snowmobiles seemed to be in great condition and were very easy to operate. They started us off with a quick introduction and several loops around a practice course which was nice for us beginners. Our guide was fantastic, really enthusiastic and great with the kids. During the tour he spotted several moose which was a highlight for us, and he let us spend all the time we wanted watching them along the side of the trail. I recommend the longer tour if you have time for it, none of us were tired of the ride or too cold after the first hour like I'd expected, and it was great to ride out on a wide lake after time on the trails. Super trip, highly recommend!

Our tour was perfect and I highly recommend it. Rod’s is a first class operation with large clean facilities and excellent terrain. We were outfitted with their gear which kept our winter clothes and shoes dry. Keep in mind that one can get covered with wet snow even on a cold day. At first I thought our duck line through the woods was slow (groups always are) but things really opened up when we hit the frozen lake and were turned loose after an additional safety briefing. We toured in early April and conditions were perfect with lots of fresh powder. Victoria was our guide and she couldn’t have been more professional, pleasant and accommodating. Don’t hesitate to give these guys a try.

Cassie and Kristin, our guides, were excellent and are very passionate about their beloved dogs. Nice peaceful ride and it will be cherished by our family forever. Rod and his family have an perfected the experience with their open area to get geared up. They provided us with ouster gear as promised and all is in excellent condition. When we come back to Alaska, we will be back at Rods for another adventure!
